I love my Mom

This are two of the many notes I have left my mom around the house. I love her a lot. The first one is at the bottom of her calendar. It says "I love you mom" on the left of the picture and on the right it says "I love youMom, Noah" and "I love you Dad, Noah". The pictures are of me and my mom. We go great together. You can click on the pictures to get a closeup of my great handwriting.

My First Day of School

I had a lot of firsts this last week. On Tuesday I went to Kindergarten for the first time to meet my teacher, Ms. Moulton and to find out where I go on the first day of school. I took a picture of my teacher, then I took a picture with my teacher. She is a really nice teacher. She is really good at teaching.

On Wednesday, it was my first official day of kindergarten. My mom drove me to school. I had a really good time there. I took a tour of the school. My favorite place to see was the nurse's room, because it had air conditioning and our classroom was really HOT. We were too busy for recess this day, but it was a lot of fun. I met some new friends like Fiona, Zoe, and Adam. My friend from church, Ian, is in my class, too. We ride home together.

On Thursday, I got to ride the bus to school for the first time. It is so fun to ride the bus. No other kids are on the bus when I get on, but luckily, right after the driver picks me up, he goes up the street and picks up Ian. We sit together on the bus. At school, we first sit at our tables and play with the blocks. Then we go to afternoon meeting, where we sit together on the carpet and pass around Tbone and all say "hi" to each other. Sometimes we say "hola" instead of "hi". After our afternoon meeting we eat our snacks, then we go out on the playground for recess. If there is time, we have a quick story after recess on the carpet. We also do lots of other things that I can't remember, but it is all FUN. When it is time for me to go home, I meet mom or Ian's mom out on the blacktop and we go home. I'm glad I get to go to kindergarten. I like it a lot. When I had to draw a picture and write what I hoped to learn in kindergarten, I said I wanted to learn some good manners. Mom doesn't do such a good job of teaching me manners. I hope Ms. Moulton can teach me some good manners while I'm in her good class.

I went to Hawaii with Henry and learned to hula!!!

Better than Disneyland!!!!

The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is my absolute favorite place to go in the whole world -- besides to visit my family. Here's why: You can walk through a humongous heart (and see funny posters about the heart that ate Philadelphia), You can watch a video of a real open heart surgery -- they play it in the chest of a mannequin so it looks super real,
You can find out how to dissect and mummify a frog if you want to...by the way, I don't ever want to see that again!
There is an AMAZING room where you can learn all about airplanes, and they teach you how to build a paper airplane, then you can put your paper airplane into this machine that will launch it really fast. If you built it right, it flies.
Then, if you are sneaky, you can climb into the cage where the airplanes land and gather up the best airplanes and launch them again and again. FUN. That's why the Franklin Institute is the funnest place on earth.

This was a FUN day. There is nothing like a big sister to be a jungle gym, unless it is a Mom jungle gym.

Don't I have a great smile????

I went to all my sister's Tball games this spring. Sometimes it was boring, but sometimes I would bring my bat and my wiffle ball and my mom or dad would play with me. Mostly I was patient and didn't complain.

Spider Man!!!!!

Valley Forge

We went to Valley Forge on a hot day. The park had places where you could stop and see different parts of the camps where the soldiers stayed. Here was a cannon set on a hill to fight off the British just in case they tried to attack. They were in Philadelphia in nice warm houses while the soldiers of the Continental army slept in small cabins.

Here I am on a cannon. Fun!!!

Here was a soldier from the Continental army. He talked about life in the camp, and what they would eat and do to stay busy.

When we walked up to the camp, the soldiers were playing a game called backgammon on a board they made themselves. Real live soldiers liked to play games to pass the time, too.

This was one of the soldiers talking about their uniforms. He said the bow on the hat would indicate what rank you were. He told us that Washington made his rank wear the same color bow as all of the enlisted men (lowest rank). He said that meant that Washington had respect for each soldier and didn't think he was better than the soldiers.

Here is the inside of one of the cabins. The were all made of wood, with clay in between the gaps in the walls. There was a fireplace to keep warm by and 8 beds in the tiny cabin. I had fun at Valley Forge.
